Baby Diaper Reviews

Welcome to baby diaper reviews, a place where we take detailed measurements of baby diapers and give you an honest review. We started this website because every brand advertises that they make the best and most absorbent diaper. We found this not only to be incorrect but an expensive learning process as we bought bag after bag of diapers over the years. So we created this website to hopefully save you time, money, and frustration when it comes to finding the best product for your baby.

Currently, we take over 30 measurements for each product, testing everything from total absorbency to how well the waistline stretches. We also include a detailed picture page for each product so you can see what each manufacturer has to offer.

We are currently reviewing size three as this is the most common size that manufacturers produce. For example, Huggies does not make OverNites in sizes below a three. We will expand our testing to include all sizes and brands as time and budget allow. If you have a suggestion for a future review or are looking for a specific brand or size please let us know and we will be happy to prioritize your request and add it to the website.

What do we measure for our reviews?

Briefly, in total, we look at over thirty attributes for our tests. We first analyze the cost, which is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing a diaper. We discuss specific costs per unit and examine cost breaks when buying in bulk.

Then we move on to measuring the diaper itself. We start with measuring the outside of the diaper and gradually move to the inside.  We look at everything, including the size, shape, and weight of the absorbent material. We measure the pulling strength required to remove the fastening tabs and if they stick to other parts of the outer shell. We check to see if the product has a scent and if so, we note its strength and describe the fragrance.  We then look for a wetness indicator and then test to see what color it changes to when it is wet versus dry. We then note if it is easy to read it after it is wet in a dark room as some brands have distracting outer covers that make it difficult to see the wetness indicator in low-light situations.

Finally, we look at absorbency. We take three specific tests and then repeat them four times so we have confidence in our numbers.

If you would like to know more about how we take our measurements, check out our dedicated page on how we conduct our tests.
